Supported only for dates from January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2027. A business day means Monday through Friday excluding the national holidays published by the Cabinet Office; company closures, bank holidays, local events, and service-specific deadlines are not included.

How this estimate works
- The calculator checks each calendar date in the selected 2026–2027 range and excludes Saturdays and Sundays.
- It then excludes national holidays and substitute holidays contained in the official Cabinet Office holiday data for those two years.
- Inclusive mode evaluates both endpoints; elapsed mode begins with the day after the start date. The result also reports weekend and holiday weekdays separately.

The holiday exclusion set is derived only from the Cabinet Office's published national-holiday page and CSV data and is intentionally limited to 2026 and 2027.
Frequently asked questions
What does this calculator count as a Japan business day?
It counts Monday through Friday and removes Japanese national holidays and substitute holidays in the Cabinet Office data for 2026 and 2027.
Does it exclude company holidays or the New Year closure?
Only when a date is a weekend or an official national holiday. Employer closures, bank schedules, exchange calendars, and service-specific non-working days must be checked separately.
